It was an honor to be asked to do Jasons Dunhams monument. This a young man is a war hero who gave his life to save the lives of his fellow marines. Monument etchings are always an emotional thing for me to do. I have two nephews in the Army. While doing Jasons monument I had to stop a few times. I cried, I sank in deep thought, I felt great pride...and I got stuck...I just couldn't do it and sat for what felt like forever convincing myself I could keep etching. Then I prayed.."Jason, help me out here, tell me I can do this" Less than 5 minutes later a song came on the radio. "American Hero" I'll never, ever forget that moment. I got back to work and completed the monument for Jason. There are 3 men in my life who make me proud to be from this country. My father (82), who was in ww2 in the navy and survived after his ship got hit, and Chad and Cory...my nephews, my heros.

This is "Phil". He's one of the kittens I found on a cold windy rainy day, out in the middle of nowhere, in a corn field. There were 3, and I'll never understand why, or how anyone could do that to tiny frail little creatures who have no chance to survive. If I hadn't picked them up, they would have died for sure. They like to hang out with me as I paint, and I'll be using them as models for my paintings soon. Little did they know they would be earning their keep!
